Student Academic Offerings and Programs

Located in Nolensville, TN, we are the oldest school in the area. We have a dedicated staff and an extremely supportive PTO. Our school houses Pre-K through Fifth Grade and provides safe facilities along with an excellent learning environment.

Nolensville Elementary School prides itself on providing a wide range of offerings and opportunities. Whether during the school day or before or after school, there are various ways to get involved. Be sure to explore our Library Media Center, our fabulous Specials classes, and our counseling program.

Specials Classes

At Nolensville Elementary, we strive to develop a well-rounded student. Daily offering of special area classes help meet that goal. Our related arts classes see each student at least once every seven days, and more for PE.

Art

Every student in kindergarten through fifth grade receives visual art classes from a certified visual art specialist during their “specials” rotation. The goal in elementary art is to foster a love and interest in visual art. Students explore art and art-making from many cultures, time periods and media, developing a sense of self-esteem through learning the creative process of making art.

Library

Music

At Nolensville Elementary, kindergarten through fifth-grade students will attend general music classes within the specials rotation. In Music class, we focus on an overall appreciation of music and the enrichment it can bring to our lives. We learn about music from many different parts of the world and experience a variety of instruments. In a typical music class students will be singing, dancing, moving, and playing instruments. Fourth and Fifth graders will learn to play the recorder. We also offer Cardinal Choir to fourth and fifth graders as an extra-curricular activity.

P.E.

The goal of Nolensville Elementary Physical Education Department is to develop healthy bodies, promote positive attitudes towards lifetime physical activity, practice sports skills, learn about physical fitness, and most importantly to have fun! Physical Education is an integral part of the total education process. It gives the students the opportunity to develop physically, mentally and socially through the use of physical activity.

Let's Sign, NES

"Let's Sign, NES!" is a group of 4th & 5th graders that are learning to communicate in American Sign Language. Students will learn the alphabet, numbers, basic "get to know you" conversation, colors, school words and seasonal words. If time, we will add to this vocabulary. Students will also play games, share a few books and videos in American Sign Language.

Cardinal Choir

Cardinal Choir is a combined group of talented fourth and fifth grade students who enjoy singing and desire to be a better vocalist. Students rehearse a variety of winter-themed children’s choral music emphasizing proper singing technique and choral blend. Most importantly, these students benefit from the camaraderie that comes from being involved in a performing group. Cardinal Choir is offered once a week during first semester with a performance in December. They are also featured at our NES Winterfest. There is no audition for Cardinal Choir, however, we are looking for students who love to sing, are willing to work hard and show responsible behavior at school, and can commit to the whole semester of rehearsals and performances. Happy singing!

Cardinal Run Team

Cardinals' Run Team is a great way to increase physical activity for everyone! This after school activity is made for the kids to have fun while building a healthy body one lap at a time. Cardinals' Run Team is:

Fun – not overly competitive
Safe – not overly strenuous
Inclusive – anyone can join, regardless of ability
Organized – with responsible adults supervising
Fair – rules and rewards / incentives
